The Implementation of RCC Pavements in Colombia

Colombia is a developing country with enormous difficulties for the implementation of new technologies due to their introduction costs and the positioning of existing ones. Despite the constant academic efforts to keep it alive, the construction of concrete pavements has been asleep for years as a consequence of the obsolescence of the equipment and the almost exclusive dedication of contractors to asphalt. This situation does not help for the introduction of RCC pavements requiring big investments in equipment and technology arid d iel will to makc it work. Some basic researr.h has been made in conjunction with test pavements to gain experience and to ease its technical acceptance.
