Roller Compacted Concrete as an Efficient Material for Road Pavement Construction

Paper by KORSHUNOV BASURMANOVA GOPIN from ISCR 7th 1994 Vienna Austria

A study has been conducted in order to determine the influence of a wide range of factors on the properties of roller compacted concrete (RCC): coarse aggregate type and content, addition of fly ash, chemical admixtures type and quantity, technologies of manufacturing and compaction, tranportation time and concrete curing. The RCC strength, shrinkage, air void distribution, frost and weathering resistance have been investigated. Conclusion: roller compacted concrete is an efficient material for the construction of cement-concrete paveiiients.
