Prediction of Soil-Cement Strength Gain

Paper by JALALI WOODS from ISCR 8th 1998 Lisbon Portugal

Prediction of the strength gain of soil - cement mixtures to be used as base or sub-base of roads is of practical importance. It is necessary to know with good approximation the strength developed under the 'in-Situ' curing conditions for a given age. This research work has studied the application of a theoretical model for prediction of the strength gain of soil-cement mixtures. The laboratory work included compression strength tests on soilccmcnt samples cured under different curing temperatures. The application of the model shows that the strength gain of soil-cement with time and curing temperature can be predicted successfully.
