Modern SFHC – Super Fast Hardening Concrete Repair System for Airfields and Roads, Based on Special Cement for Infrastructure Projects

Paper by RIFFEL HANKE from ISCR 11th 2010 Seville Spain

The importance of fast traffic area repairs is increasing. For roads and airfield service areas a specific fast repair system has been developed to satisfy the demand. This system uses standard methods of ready-mixed concrete and is appropriate if a few additional requirements are taken into account. The placing is carried out with concrete of a special composition developed in the laboratory and tested under applied conditions. This approach allows the adoption of common placement and road construction methods on site. In our examples, the repaired bus lane at Frankfurt Airport could be opened to the traffic after 4.5 hours and the airfields in Cologne/Bonn Airport after 4 hours.
