Paper by DOMENICHINI URSELLA from ISCR 7th 1994 Vienna Austria
The "technique of thin bonded overlays" has been applied to restore damaged concrete pavement surfaces. In this article results from laboratory tests concerning different combinations of repair mortars and several support concretes are piesciuted and discussed. Bond strength of the overlay to the supporting concrete has been assessed by means of pull off and thermal shock tests. Tests have highlighted that, besides the materials' characteristics, both the technique and the operating procedures are fundamental for the treatment of damaged concrete surfaces.
