A Study on the Thin Precast Concrete Pavement for Rehabilitation of Asphalt Pavements

Precast concrete pavcmrnts have the merit to supply concrete slabs of good quality. In the concstructiori of precast concrete pavements, it is not necessary to use any special machines. And the special merit is that traffics can open immediatly because of unnecessary of curing. So this type of concrete pavement is effective for the rehabilitation of asphalt concrete pavements in urban areas. The three types of cocnrete for the precast slabs were i'xamined . From the result of the flexural test, the chemical prestressed concrete appeared the most stable performance. Then, the actual size slab loading test were performed to investigate the properties of slabs. The analysis of the test result showed that this type of concrete pavements have enough strength and serviceability.
