U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, Cement and Concrete Testing - Research Civil Engineer

About Dr. Paris

Dr. Jerry Paris received his doctorate at the University of Florida researching alternative supplementary cementitious materials in structural concrete utilizing agricultural and petroleum waste products. His post-doc work touched on delayed ettringite formation in mass concrete structures, development of admixtures for nuclear shielding concrete to reduce damage from x-ray and neutron radiation, and x-ray radiography of train and rocket components for non-destructive evaluation. Since 2022 he has worked at the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Concrete and Materials Branch as the lead engineer for concrete sustainability while working on projects involving biological concrete, novel cement chemistries, and sustainability focused airfield pavement research.
