Nicol Botha is a renowned specialist in airport pavement engineering and consulting services, with over 12 years of international experience. He will be joining us as a special keynote speaker at the upcoming Australian Society for Concrete Pavements (ASCP) Conference this year, and we couldn’t be more excited to learn from his knowledge and expertise.
Botha’s professional journey began in South Africa, where he earned his master’s degree in civil (pavement) engineering and joined the Dutch-based Netherlands Airport Consultants (NACO), where he currently serves as a senior pavement specialist.
Throughout his career, Botha has shown exceptional leadership, innovation, and a unique approach to airport pavement engineering. He has played an instrumental role in various international projects, including the design of various new airports, expansion of existing airports like Amsterdam Schiphol and London Heathrow, and the development of maintenance and rehabilitation designs and strategies for other airports like Doha International Airport and Luxembourg Airport.
His contributions to these projects and many others have earned him recognition as a global leader in the field of airport pavement engineering.
At the ASCP Conference this year, Botha will be sharing his insights on several important topics related to airport pavement engineering. His keynote speech “Airport concrete pavement design and construction: Challenges and opportunities” will cover the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in airport pavement design and maintenance.
