CCA Road Note 41 by Cement and Concrete Association
The concrete Pavement in Victoria Parade is on the eastbound carriageway between Brunswick and Hoddle Streets in Collingwood, a distance of about 1.25 km. Within the overall alignment of this section of Victoria Parade there is a central reserve containing a tramway, while the westbound carriageway has a flexible pavement A previous review of Victoria Parade, in Road Note6, when the Pavement was 17 years old contains a detailed discussion on the design and construction of the Pavement. The concrete pavement is of the Jointed unreinforced tyre. Original construction documents indicate that the contraction points are dowelled. The subbase was constructed from unbound wet-mixed crushed rock.
