Paper by WANLIN from ISCR 8th 1998 Lisbon Portugal
The pavement of the apron on Brussels National Airport, which was constructed in the early sixties, was forming cracks. Given that fragments of concrete could in time be a danger to the aircraft engines, a thorough renovation of the apron was imperative. The distinctive feature of the site is that it is situated at a strategically important location. This constitutes a double challenge. On the one hand, try not to impede aircraft circulation on apron 40 and, on the other hand, see to it that the organization of the work in hangar 40 (aircraft servicing and repair) is not hindered.
