Paper by TASIAUX from ISCR 9th 2004 Instanbul Turkey
In recent years, the proliferation of safety devices, the absence of legislation in the matter and the problems encountered in terms of the stability, efficiency and durability of these devices have resulted in the experimental manufacture of precast elements for the construction of road humps and plateaus. At the current time, this new production is experiencing growing success and is able to offer solutions that blend durability, aesthetics, distortion resistance and speed of implementation. In the main, it is those parts that come under the greatest traffic load, such as access ramps to plateaus that often experience problems with stability and staying in position over time. The principle is straightforward: it is a matter of taking the advantages offered by prefabrication in terms of quality and precision, and adding the benefit of a good-looking appearance to create a product that makes it possible to produce safety devices that are in harmony with their surroundings. This principle is currently being tested on other products, such as lane dividers, sections of tramlines, speed cushions, etc.
