Paper by MÜUER from ISCR 6th 1990
The hitherto used standard building method using hydraulic bound regulating and base course has been criticised for frequently faiîing. If existing concrete pavements are rehabilitated, the old road structures have to be involved into the new wearing system, so that the required bearing capacity E, ~ 50 Nz'mnr' may be achieved through the base course, drainage of the road is guaranteed, stable support conditions are maintained for rigid pavements, and the old material is fully integrated into the new construction. The tests have shown that concerning both load of road structures and technical-technological practicability, the application of granular base courses made of concrete-recycling-material is equal to the use of standard building methods.
