Paper by CHRISTORY DELABRECHE from ISCR 6th 1990
The new concept of the urban fabric is taking on extension and is testifying increasingly to the fact that in our cities the street is not a road. Cement concrete designs have been staying abreast of these developments and architectural concrete is just one of the significant outgrowths of these trends in France. The selection of a pavement now involves a tradeoff between requirements relative to site integration, resistance to stresses, surface properties, placement, maintenance and operation, as well as economic considerations. Architectural concrete provides an original solution with a good future with regard to these various needs.
