Justin Moss et al presented their work with following aims:

Extend on LCCA to study determine "breakeven' point concrete value:

  • At what level of traffic do concrete pavements become affordable
  • Where else could we be using concrete pavements

Concluding:

  • Concrete pavements better value (LCCA) at 75% below the 'Heavy duty' threshold
  • Application to local and state roads present an opportunity for savings
  • Operational improvements offer other benefits (eg reduced closures)
